Updating Gigabyte GV-R485OC-1GH BIOS

I was browsing the site today, and I noticed there was a BIOS update for my graphic card. Well, cards actually. Have them in crossfire.

So in order to update the bios in a more, less, geekier way, I used their windows utility, VGA @BIOS.

Just press flash, and it will prompt to look for the bios file and walla! Your VGA bios is updated. But there’s a catch. I’m using Crossfire! So basically it only updates the primary display card, ignoring the other. If you check the hardware information in the Catalyst, it should show different bios version even if you’re using the same card.

Solution? Swap the cards, and flash again. Well, it could have been done properly eh. Basically I tend not to use any utility provided for my hardware, as they usually skinned not to my liking. Why can’t they skin it properly like, let say NOD32? Or even better, make it look like WinForm and make it functional. Functional. Then I would use it as a utility.

I thought the days of Winamp skinning its over, but hey, you can’t please everybody. Well most probably because foobar2000 is my kind of thing.
