Metal Gear Solid 4

Just bought the special edition of the latest installment of MGS4, still at the Act 5: The Twin Suns. Haven’t watched the blu-ray cos it gives a warning (good warning Konami) of spoilers if you don’t finish the game first.

Anyway, my PS3 do need a game. Apparently the first game-worthy game is MGS4. Been putting MGS2 in my play-asia cart for a while. Finding a good PS2 NTSC/J English language is pretty hard. Why can’t they (Sony Corp of course) just lift up the region encoding of PS/PS2 games. It is getting annoying.

Busy..busy…busy

Well, its been 5 months since my last post. Well, that sucks big time! It means I am too busy blogging my own stuff during office hours :D .

Anyway, a lot have happened. Now I’m a husband, a Blu-ray freak, and also a Senior Software Developer. How cool is that? Anyway, I need to have time for myself, so that I can initiate new projects for my hobby if you know what I mean.

Till then…

When You Are A Programmer

When you are a programmer, you are either too busy or too slacky. For me, I rather be busy than doing nothing. I like something that I work so hard for paid off. Literally.

Sometimes it sucks when something you develop doesn’t work as it should. Well when it works, it feels great!

Anyway I have to take a half day emergency leave as my fiance got into an accident. Good thing that she is not hurt. But it must have been traumatized for her as she was hit at driver side of the car. The really bad news is that this happens a few days before raya. Unlucky.

Anyway right now I feel like I should do something about the symfony app that is behind the schedule.

Till then

When we feel we need to work on our own

I felt that, really. I have this desire to start up my own company. But before that, I need some more experience. Experience of a system architect. I felt that some so called architect doesn’t even know what the hell that they are talking about. And what’s more they think they are right. Why can’t they just leave it at that?

There are three words what optimization of an architecture is: Don’t Overdo It. Unless you take “don’t” as two words then it’ll be four.

TMNET MALL

Fewh, just got back from burger king KLCC. Anyway, I wanted to share something with you all today. It’s about TMNET MALL. It’s an online e-commerce system selling all sort of stuff. I was the user of the first system, which i might say complete on functionality, but design is so-so. I bought CDs from the store, which is quite expensive, but really, I care about convenience really. You don’t have to go to a shopping mall to buy one. And you can use TMNET prepaid. Anyway about two and a half months ago, I was, hey! the site look different! It looks much better! And i thought, hmm, why don’t I get a Kelly Clarkson CD for my ex-girlfriend? Back then she was my girlfriend and now she is my fiance if you thought something else ;-) .

I use my TMNET prepaid to purchase it, and after one week (I mean 7 working days), no response from them, and it was very unusual because usually it will take around 3 working days. I called them and report this matter to support, and I get the no stock excuse. Okay I guess, just refund my money. I only got my refund today, after two and a half month. Well, the reason they credited the money to someone else. Huh?!. Of course during these two and a half month, I’ve given a lot of complaints to them, because the previous system, we register and see our previous transaction, but no, they have to discard it. But as of this writing, they put the feature back in, which I think is way important.

Hmm, maybe I should be the one designing the system? Or even better develop it. Haiya.

Testing from dopod 838pro

Hi all. It’s been a while. As the title suggest, I’m posting right now right from the device. It’s taking some time to get used to the qwerty keyboard, but very useful for a mobile device. Tomorrow’s a big day, as I am going to do some major refactoring on some very complex code. sheesh. This can be avoided if I’ve managed to detect the code earlier. Officially, if any developed application is not compatible with the backend, then I’m to blame. Even though the problem could be solved if they taken a while to figure out what’s the root problem, and fix it accordingly. Damn, sometimes it’s also hard to be so damn good.
